EDIT: It would appear that something is wrong on Steam's end. Long story short, I found myself in the Common folder for the Sega Genesis Collection, and saw an.exe there for the program. On a whim I decided to run it, and much to my surprise the emulator launches without a hitch.
Initially, the announcement appeared on Twitter and was quickly deleted. Presumably someone took the mantra ‘gotta go fast’ too seriously and pulled the trigger early. Of course, eager fans had already spotted it by that point and it was later revealed by ‘Sonic the Hedgeblog’.
