Games Like Dead Frontier
DeadFrontier is a wonderful game. I've been playing long since 2D as a Non-GM and it's been one of the most memorable games. A couple years ago I hit lvl 50ish with a few characters and accomplished most of the goals I had (some perfect items, kill burning bosses etc). I hit late game (or what I call the 'fashion-show' stage), which was fun but I had no desire to pvp GM's. I had gotten everything I wanted out of DF, and it was time to move on.I'll always remember DF, and since then I've been looking for games that capture part of its spirit. Have any of you found similar games that have some of the following features?Some of my favorite things about DeadFrontier:.Very dangerous environment. Getting heavily damaged is a serious event, and can lead to big time and money losses.Tension with bursts of high action.

DF can be relaxing at times when looking, but boy do you have to always stay alert! I loved how the difficulty can suddenly ramp up to a crisis.Traveling from fort to fort was a big event when you do it for the first time. Lightning returns mod pc. Navigating around obstacles and enemies, getting distracted by loot, and trying not to die. Relying on a map feels like you're really exploring too.Trading. The player trading in DF is just fantastic. Having random stats on items is really good design for a trade system.
Even better is how you can merchant by ferrying items from location to location. Really fun.Chatrooms where people hang out to hear reports of where bosses are. Usually chat is just for group forming or trading, but in DF it was important to me to tune in to reports of bosses in the area. Really exciting when you hear a big one is near, and then players come together to take it out!.Loot balanced with danger. I'm not fond of games where you just hack a billion easy enemies in the same place hoping to get a good drop. I love how DF makes you hunt for loot, and teases you sometimes with good loot spots between dangerous enemies. You have to keep searching.
Going inside buildings is dangerous but even more lucrative! Even low level players can risk looking in dangerous areas if they have the skill.Inventory management. I think balancing your inventory with healing items and ammo and having a limited carry capacity is great too. I like how you can choose to return to base and cash in your money. Or risk it and try to get lots of money before returning.Well, that's it! Even if a game just had 1 or 2 features like these I'd be interested (doesn't have to be zombies).

So far the game that came closest to this all for me was DayZ, another looting-focused game where death is an even bigger deal. I have not tried Miscreated yet and might pick it up on sale soon; It looks similar to DayZ but better reviews.Project Zomboid I HAVE played and it has a similar feel to DF. Top-Down view, you explore and loot a city, and can work together to make fortifications. Zomboid is a server-based game with crafting / farming, a day/night cycle, and an old server plays significantly different that a new one. There is not as many enemy types though.
